Education

The field of psychiatry has dramatically changed over the past several decades and, concurrently, the education offered to medical students has evolved. Yet today various medical schools offer strikingly different curricula, encourage the use of different texts, allow for different course durations (e.g., one school offers an 8 week clerkship while another offers 4 weeks).

What do educators feel works well with the current standards in psychiatry education? What do students think works best, or needs improvement? PsychSIGN encourages discourse in psychiatry education in the hopes of developing optimal standards. Read more about this discussion as well as current opportunities available to psych-minded med students.
