The Solnit Integrated Training Program at the Yale Child Study Center

With the application cycle to residency beginning in a few short months, we'd like to inform you of an innovative training progam program; it is a 6-year combined residency and fellowship with a focus on psychiatric research, and is a joint collaboration between the Yale Child Study Center and the Yale Department of Psychiatry.

The American Psychiatric Foundation is pleased to announce that our 2012 Helping Hands Grant application has been posted online. This program awards grants of up to $5,000 to medical schools for community mental health projects that are initiated and managed by medical students. AACAP Life Members Mentorship Grants for Medical Students

The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) is proud to once again offer the Life Members Mentorship Grants for Medical Students. This opportunity provides up to $1,000 in travel support for medical students to attend the AACAP Annual Meeting in San Francisco, CA, October 23-28, 2012. Medical students will receive an introduction to the field of child and adolescent psychiatry while participating in the AACAP Mentorship Program, Career Development Forum, Life Members events, and numerous other networking activities.

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is the most under-served of all medical specialties. With 10% of America's youth suffering a severe psychiatric disorder, the need for qualified physicians, in addition to psychologists, social workers, special education teachers, and nurses who work with kids, is greater than ever before. This 10 minute film is produced by the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the Campaign for America's Kids documents a "day in the life" of four young and engaging child and adolescent psychiatrists.
