Hello and Happy Summer!
It’s hard to believe that the APA Annual Conference in Atlanta was three months ago! I guess time flies when you are having fun (or studying). The exciting news is that our next conference is quickly approaching. Take a break from your books and clerkships (if approved of course) and join us in the nation’s capitol!
The PsychSIGN conference at the Institute of Psychiatric Services (IPS) Conference will be held from 8:30am-5pm on Saturday, Oct 8th in the Bowery Room at the Washington Hilton Hotel in the Kalorama Room. We have an excellent lineup this year as can be seen in the tentative schedule below:
9:00-10:15am: Residency Fair
10:30am-12:00pm: Student Mental Health and Burnout: What We Know and What Can Be Done
1:30-3:00pm: Subspecialty Specific Sessions (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry)
3:00-5:00pm: Psychiatry Demystified: Class Based Roundtable
5:00pm Raffle and Official Conference Closure
Possible social event following the conference: http://allthingsgofallclassic.com/
We look forward to seeing you at the event! As a reminder, registration for all PsychSIGN official events and the IPS conference is free for medical students. Please spread the word with other students that may be interested in psychiatry, burnout, or mental health. Open registration will be held until Monday September 26th.
Hope to see you in DC!
